We had 43 racers this year, from as far away as Bellingham Washington! How on earth those guys found out about our little race, we’ll never know. Oh, yeah, we know: Roo Harris (JackaRoo Books) has been ever-vigilant about getting the word out on MTBR! Thanks, Roo, that’s awesome. Complemented by a good showing from Santa Rosa area, and a great dash of locals, including a gaggle of Juniors, we’re really rounding out our race crew. Very nice.
With ten Juniors racing, many of them local, looks like the Mendo Jacks Composite HS MTB Team will be pretty well fleshed out.
And those incredible trophies? Created by our very own BenJamin Kline’s Shift Studios, complemented with donations from Fort Bragg Cyclery and our 2011 Fat Tire Festival. It’s all about Trophies and Trails, right? Yah.
The use of this year’s timing system (Rhesus) was donated by Bike Monkey, our dear friends in Santa Rosa, run by Mendocino Bike Sprite and complete with race day tech support by the Code Angel. They’ll have to make sure that Rebecca Rausch doesn’t schedule her Private Idaho during next year’s Caspar Classic so that they can come up and race in the Greatest Little MTB Race in Nor Cal.
Thanks to everyone who volunteered for helping to produce one of our best Classics ever, with a special thanks to Stanley Miklose (Down Home Foods) for being Grand Marshal and Race Director extraordinaire!
